City Icons

During his various journeys, Francisco Cerón captures each city from his own perspective, extracting from each photograph its urban spirit, predominant colors, the language of its signs, architecture, modes of transportation, nature, culture, sometimes its people, and its most iconic places. He later reconstructs a new city in his studio.

The new city is structured in its unique form, in its everyday landscapes, in its culture, in its own language of signs and symbols, and in those places that make it unique, special, and that the city’s own inhabitants have stopped seeing.

Francisco Cerón selects the most suitable photographs for his vision, uses digital technology to create photomontages and collages to give it a pop art appearance, and uses the dot as a unifying element, amplifying it to make it the protagonist in homage to Pop Art and the principle of lithographic printing.
